Design Your Food Catering Truck
Getting started in the mobile food catering business starts with a solid chassis, easy maintenance exterior, and above all, an efficient food preparation interior.
Step 1: Chassis
Kitchens on Wheels® offers three designs: the Bistro Bus, the KOW Trailer, and our largest mobile catering truck, the Bistro Box. For our mobile catering trailers, choose from one of the rugged trailer designs designed by the folks at HAULMARK. Our Bistro Box is designed in the roomy interior of the Mercedes Sprinter. With 73" of standing room and 473 cubic feet of space, the Bistro Box gives you the ultimate mobile catering kitchen without the feel of a large truck. For virtually unlimited mobile kitchen space, our Bistro Box is the true Kitchen on Wheels. Set on the chassis of the box truck of your choice (including used vehicles), Kitchens on Wheels will build your dream catering truck in the roomy interior.
Step 2: Maintenance Details
In food preparation, cleanliness is essential and our easy maintenance interiors and exteriors allow you to focus on your details — running a successful mobile catering business. Our trucks offer:
- Easy-to-clean interiors: every element of your catering truck's working area can be cleaned with a power washer for optimum cleaning for the minimum time.
- Steel wipe down walls for heat resistant interiors up to 500 degrees and easy cleaning.
- AMERAGUARD exteriors for truck-bed durable surfaces
- Custom floor plans, no pre-made vehicles
Step 3: Choose Equipment & Placement
Is your Kitchens on Wheels® a taco truck, concessions truck, or a cold sandwich & coffee trailer? Understanding the potential needs of your mobile food business ensures that you do not waste money on unnecessary catering truck equipment nor on inefficient redesigns. Mission Restaurant Equipment, our catering equipment supplier, carries virtually everything needed for your business.
Step 4: Watch the Build Process
Kitchens on Wheels® offers streaming video of the building process of your vehicle. Watch our experts as they craft your truck or trailer into a state of the art culinary kitchen on wheels.
Step 5: Health Permits and Inspections
Your investment in your mobile restaurant business doesn't end with the delivery of your vehicle. In order to prepare or sell food for the public, your vehicle must pass local health rules and regulations before aquiring a permit. Kitchens on Wheels®' library of health regulations by state guarantees that your vehicle will not be held up from service by departmental red tape.
